Hospital: The annual leave entitlement for GP Specialty Trainees working in hospital is 28 days per annum. This is divided as 9.5 days from April to August, 9.5 days August to December and 9 days January to March. In hospital posts ONLY, those on paypoint 3 or above of the salary scale, become entitled to 33 days. Leave cannot be carried between hospital and GP placements but if moving between specialties, may be carried forward if permission is sought and given by the specialty, leave is being carried into.
GP Practice: Leave should be applied for via the GP Programme Office though practices must of course be consulted regarding time away from duty.
ST1/ST2: Annual leave entitlement whilst working in GP Practice is 25 days, split as 8.3 days per 4 month rotation. Those achieving pay point 3 or above on the salary scale are entitled to 30 days.
ST3: Annual leave entitlement is 30 days, regardless of service or point on pay scale.
